*Fix For Launcher Crash
Copy steam_api.dll and the ALI213 ini from the game’s root folder into the launcher folder, and run the launcher with the argument ‘launcher’. Set your settings and click launch. Nothing will happen, but if you go and launch the main EXE, the settings you set will be present.
However, once you press menu, the game will not respond to anything, so it means you cannot save. That’s the only issue here

You probably have an old dll file of OpenAl somewhere on your pc. Try going to the _CommonRedist directory in the games folder and install OpenAl from the installer there. It has an aditional script file that should override of the faulty OpenAl you have ono your PC, with the right one. If that doesnt work. Look for a dll file in your game folder and delete it. It dont its name but its something like openal.dll

Try the fix from a post above yours, if it doesnt work try running the game in mode. Just right click “Zero Escape.exe” and click on “Run as an ”. I know it sounds stupid, but trust me it usually works.
ALTERNATIVE FIX FOR SOUND PROBLEMS.
From what i discovered the problem with sound is only with the version that has no installer. Which is a problem, because installer needs to properly install openal libraries on your computer. You can install it yourself but from what I noticed, it doesnt wor for everyone. So here’s the fix. BUY THE GAME ON STEAM. If you buy it, steam will install the game properly and everything will work.

Just dont use it. Start the game from “Zero.Escape.Zero.Time.Dilemma-ALI213\Zero Escape\Zero Escape.exe”.
I tried installing directx 11 and it fixed the crash problem. the game got kinda laggy tho

@Hououin Kyouma the openal32.dll that ask you to have first on the game, you don’t need it after having installed openal like Satisek suggested.

I have the same problem as people before me – game crashes when new game is selected. I installed everything from _commonredist, tried opening from launcher, tried opening as , tried updating directx. Any help?

Huh, I found at the ztd steam community that the graphic card might be at fault – it needs to directx 11. Anyone can confirm that it is the source of problem?
Finally got it to work.
1. the OpenAL and install. Make sure you don’t already have a openal32.dll in the folder or elsewhere in your pc, otherwise it won’t work.
2. “Copy steam_api.dll and the ALI213 ini from the game’s root folder into the launcher folder, and run the launcher with the argument ‘launcher’. Set your settings and click launch. Nothing will happen, but if you go and launch the main EXE, the settings you set will be present.”
3. Run the game using Zero Escapre.exe, NOT the launcher.
So far I can play the game with all the audio present and able to save, no crash. On Windows 10. Hope it helps! Enjoy!
I figured out. AUDIO FIX! You just have to move the Zero Escape folder to C:. That stopped the music dropping!
Guys, when you get an erroor or a crash. Post a picture of the error messege. I can’t help you when all you tell me is “game crashed”.
To all the people who get a crash on starting. Are you sure that your graphics card can handle this game?
I found out something. If the game crash when you click on new game, it’s because it doesn’t run on integrated graphics like Intel hd. If you’re on laptop with two graphic card try switching to Nvidia instead from nvidia control .
The launcher is working but fine but I get ‘The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b)’

The error message that pops out when I start a new game simply says “Zero Escape.exe has stopped working”.
If you tried all the solutions above and still crashed you probably don’t have a directx 11 video card, that’s hardware problem.
For those people whose graphic card cant handle Dx 11 try to follow this instructions.

yeah at first it didn’t work
but i merge the folder contain main.exe and launcher folder.

I had the problem of crashing on New Game. The game cant play on intel based graphics so i switched to amd and walaaa!!!! The game has awesome graphics

For the ones getting the 0xc00000 problems I fixed it dowloading the 32bits .dll from here and put it into your zero escape folder

Okay, I installed everything in _CommonRedist and neither of the .exes worked so I transferred everything in the root folder into the Launcher folder and ZeroEscape-Launcher.exe runs now, but then when I try to run Zero Escape.exe it tells me msvcr120.dll is missing. I moved msvcr120.dll into that folder too and now that error stops but instead I get a 0xc000007b application error now. I have no idea what to do now. I have direct x 11 and I’m running Windows 7.

Game works great! If the launcher isn’t working…go to your Documents and edit the config.jason in a text editor to change your settings.
I’ve ed the game and i’ve succesfully played. but, the in-game menu is kinda glitchy. when i try to click anything, it won’t work until i click somewhere else outside the game. click the menu again then it works. any way to fix it?
