Now, I know you’re a troll , BUT… I would argue that pirating actually benefits film, television, music and even game developers by making these available to those who might otherwise not be able to enjoy them, globally. If it wasn’t for pirating, a lot of these would be limited to the regions they’re released in.
It also makes it possible for everyone to enjoy it whether they can afford it or not. These people who also have access to places like Twitter, YouTube, Twitch, FB and wherever else people post about film, TV, games, etc., and make these topics trend. Which then influences more people to actually purchase and/or consume the product, and the developers.
If it wasn’t for people pirating Japanese and Korean music, television and anime, these things wouldn’t be NEARLY as globally popular as they are now. The growth of anime in other countries was literally boosted because of pirate fansubs. Dattebayo Fansubs is a good example of that.
People who are going to buy the game and the like are still going to buy them. There are a lot of benefits to buying it that aren’t always available with pirated versions, so a lot of the people who are exposed to the pirated version of a game may actually purchase the original. Or they might purchase official merchandise of the thing they’re consuming.
Do you really think most anime, games, film and television are as popular as they are on their own? Sure, Harry Potter made a few billion in theatres. But it also made something like three times more in merchandise alone. Not to mention Star Wars… Star Trek… Gundam… Toy Story… all the Marvel and DC movies, etc etc etc. All of them got boosted because of piracy, which then in turn created more fans, globally.

Overrated game in my opinion not bad by any means it has interesting cyberpunk aesthetic and an interesting world and lore,but the gameplay is simplistic basic platforming and simplistic puzzles the fact that this game gets those huge sales and enermous praise nowadays and is treated as a masterpiece is kind of sad honestly and shows how far gaming standards have fallen original Mass Effect 1-3 trilogu,Dragon Age Origins,Witcher 3,Batman Arkham Trilogy,Half Life 1 and 2,GTA 4 those are near flawless masterpieces this is average to above average indie platformer with beautiful art style and interesting world,but about average gameplay.
People love cats and the aesthetic is great, gameplay is cute and simple. I don’t think it was ever meant to be some badass game with a really deep story and challenging gameplay, so I don’t know why you’re comparing it to these games that are a completely different genre. It’s just a cute adventure game with a little sad story. The game is very well made and I think they do deserve these huge sales and praise. No need to discredit their work just because it’s not like those other games you like so much.

The game delivers much more than it needed to, even with its simplicity, the shallow parts from the game design that weren’t explored enough and well developed. As an indie game, there wasn’t much reputation and money at risk, is a labour of love as much as Annapurna (both the movies and the games one) does, its a game made without the need to follow a perfect formula that is profitable enough to avoid get the company to bankrupcy (and therefore, it’s okay to not be amazing at everything it has, I personally found it to be much reading, less showing). It isn’t the standarts that falls, it’s the target public sight that expanded to recognize small gems made from unknown people as well. Big games are still getting the attention and praising they deverse, such as GTA5, The Last of Us, Elden Ring, God of War, etc.
Did you ever consider the idea that maybe people are celebrating a unique idea in an era of remakes, sequels, remasters etc? It’s a genuinely fun game and at least in my opinion is nowhere near overrated.
