Error when installing update: “this update does not your version of the game. a new version of the game.” How to fix it. I have the gog version.

There is a problem with this gog update because we actually need an old update first (which is not even releaed by game dev/gog platform),
GOG torrent (full game) is version 436.
And this update (gog) REQUIRED game with version 424.
Which mean this update will not work with version 436.
that’s mean there is another update when game out for first time which should be from “v424 To v436” then this new update “v436 to v1.0.523..”
The weird thing how the fuck GOG platform forget to release update from 436 to v1.0.523. OR v424 To v436, so we can use their update only
If i found a solution i will share it with you guys or wait for someone who can share full installed game with new update installed, then rehash your game folder using torrent.
By the way, considering that GOG has its own version of the game (different numbering), the version history looks like this:
1. 424 – GOG Galaxy
2. 436 – Offline Installers
3. 523? – Patch v1.0.1/1.0.523

Hey there! We launched the game with build version 424 on GOG GALAXY and 436 for Offline Installers . While there’s no noticeable difference in-game, GSC Game World decided shortly before launch that build 424 would be the “final” version. We were able to quickly update GOG GALAXY to 424 , but to ensure everyone could start ing the game at launch, we used build 436 for Offline Installers , as there wasn’t enough time to regenerate them with build 424.
Yesterday we rolled back the Offline Installers to build 424 . We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, but this approach allowed us to minimize delays for players.
As mentioned, the differences between the builds are minimal and likely unnoticeable in-game. Nevertheless, there will be a patch that will bring all versions to the same build. Thank you for your understanding!

Lol that why will the update will not work with full game (436), the only solution now, is to full updated game (GOG) or go with “RUNE” release and use Update Only from “RUNE”
In case you want to stick with GOG (DRMFREE), you must full game (523 = v1.0.1/1.0523) again due to this issue by game dev, and i don’t think you will have issue again in future, because updates will be based for this version (523), so wait for skidrowreloaded to share full gog game. fortunately this rare issue not happened in steam. or hopefully GOG DEV will release update from 436 To v424 as they said above “There will be a patch that will bring all versions to the same build. Thank you for your understanding!”

There’s an answer above. The GOG online installer doesn’t have the same version of the build so we have to wait for the update from this version to the GOG release version.
Will the save game carry from gog version to Rune?

Already tried it multiple times and I couldn’t make it work.
You must copy saves from C:\s\Name\AppData\Local\Stalker2\Saved\GOG to Steam in the same folder.
u can copy and past your save games into the other folder.
open this “C:\s\YOUR\AppData\Local\Stalker2”
u can find a “steam” or a “GOG” folder. in there u find all savegames and u can simply copy past it to the newer installed GAME.

@MjPayn: You can transfer saves, yes. In AppData/Local/Stalker2 folder move the save from GOG to STEAM.

Since the GOG version was released all wrong by the DEVs and now needs a downgrade (436->424) to update, I prefer to wait for a FULL version of the game again, but this time RUNE already with patch 1.0.2 included. There is no reason to waste time with version 1.0.1, but they already released another version right after in such a short time.
GOG is always bad. Just dowload Codex/Rune and you have never Problems. easy
